A new version of Communities First has been set up at Plas Madoc under the guidance of AVOW, WCBC and the Welsh Government for the assistance of local groups, charities and workers in the communities of the South Wrexham area.

The Welsh Government, formerly WAG, the Welsh Assembly Government, (maybe not to keen on the connotations associated with international footballer’s better halves), has now proposed the:

Urban South CF (another connotation comes to mind) Cluster.

The Main Aims of the Communities First programme for Wrexham South are to improve three main areas in our communities as designated by the Welsh Government:

• Health
• Education & Skills
• Job Prospects

And obviously these are high priorities for us all.
