Where is Cefn Mawr
This document highlights the plight of our community, the second largest in the county of Wrexham and the largest community in the WHS Corridor. Cefn Mawr is simply the worst signed village that we know of. This is confirmed by the number of people that regularly drive past our community without being aware of it for years on end! This needs to be corrected as we have been asking for, for 6 years.

Cefn Railway Station
Find out how practically viable a railway station at Cefn Mawr would be in terms of passenger count. This would be a primary factor in establishing Cefn Mawr as a Ruaul / Urban Transport Hub for South Wrexham, the Dee Valley and the Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site. WCBC PUBLIC CONSULTAION

Dear all, we will post here when the next round of public consultation with WCBC opens later this year.

Important Notice - LDP2 and the Cefn Area

The Cefn at the centre of the Pontcysyllte WHS and immediately adjacent to the Aqueduct is at a fork in the road to its destiny following the final closure of the former Monsanto Works. We cannot stress enough the importance of the LDP2 to the future of our community, economy and employment prospects which we try to seek the best outcome for.

Under the LDP2 the Cefn & Cefn Mawr has the chance of becoming an urban / rural transport hub for South Wrexham, The Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site and the Dee Valley. By connecting the aqueduct to the centre of Cefn Mawr, the Cefn can become a tourist destination in its own right on a Hebden Bridge or Blist Hill type model for the county of Wrexham and North East Wales.

To achieve this we will need to work together as a team and we ask you to join us in this.

Please note that when we say the Cefn Area we mean the central section of the Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site including the villages of Cefn Mawr, Cefn Bychan, Acrefair, Plas Madoc, Rhosymedre, Trevor, Froncysyllte, Penly, Garth and New Bridge. Everyone is welcome join in this most important process over the next 2 years, so come along and give us your input.

The Full version of the LDP2 at this stage can be seen at the WCBC website:
