Swn y Dwr is situated in Whitehurst, which has quite a history itself, being the old drover’s road to Wrexham, Whitehurst House belonged to the Middleton family and was the stopover point for their gentry friends travelling from London to Holyhead therefore Bed & breakfast is part of the history of this place. Swn y Dwr is one mile from Chirk Castle. Chirk Golf Club, Marina and the Llangollen Canal are only a few minutes’ walk away. The canal path leads to the World Heritage Site Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which is less than two miles by foot. Walkers might like to trace the Offa's Dyke path which runs close to Swn y Dwr.
