£300m spent already on HS2, considerably more, like 250 more that is required to upgrade the entire Chester, Wrexham and Shrewsbury to London Paddinton or Marlybone line that could be used for all the Shropshire, Mid Wales, North Wales and Irish Traffic from Holyhead. This really would reduce congestion on the West Coast Main Line at a fraction of the cost of HS2.
